Stephen Starr’s Continental Miami

Restaurateur Stephen Starr announces the opening of his latest Miami eatery, The Continental. Inspired by the original Continental Restaurant + Martini Bar, The Continental will be an evolution of the much-loved Philadelphia staple which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month. The Continental is Starr’s fourth restaurant in South Florida, following the success of Steak 954, Makoto, and Verde. The Continental is located on Collins Avenue and 23rd Street featuring both indoor and outdoor seating with two bar areas just steps from the ocean.

“Continental was my first restaurant, and its like my first child. It will always have a special place in my heart. We are currently celebrating our 20th Anniversary this month and I’m excited to be opening The Continental in Miami at the same time.” says Stephen Starr, CEO and Founder of Starr Restaurants.

Overseeing the kitchen is Matthew Oetting, who most recently was executive chef of Starr’s Caffe Storico in New York City. Erik Battes, Starr’s corporate chef, who held lead culinary roles at Morimoto and Jean George, both in New York, worked with Oetting to develop the menu.

The Continental features inventive dishes, inspired by the unexpected intersection of global flavors. The menu is designed to be shareable and enjoyed by the entire table. Menu highlights include: Build Your Own Sushi where tuna, salmon, sushi rice, toasted nori, vegetables and garnishes are presented in a bento box with instructions on how to be your own sushi master; Vegetables on Ice with ranch, hummus, ssamjang, and crisp crudité veggiesBackyard Burger with aged cheddar, Nueske’s bacon, onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard served on a Kaiser roll with French friesCharred Broccoli served with romesco, pickled chilies, Marcona almonds, lime; and Whole Globe Artichoke with dijonnaise.
