David Grutman, the powerhouse behind Miami Beach’s LIV and Story, who created a worldwide lifestyle brand with two of the country’s top nightlife venues, has opened his first restaurant, Komodo, in partnership with Jeffrey Chodorow in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood. Capitalizing on his globally known success Grutman has applied his trademark style and energy to the restaurant industry. The name Komodo was inspired by Southeast Asia and the Komodo Dragon found on the namesake islands in the region. The three-story indoor/outdoor eatery and lounge combines the cuisine of Southeast Asia with a South Florida vibe to elevate the dining and nightlife experience on Brickell Avenue. With no detail overlooked, Grutman has worked to create a 17,000 square-foot restaurant (13,000 square-foot indoor/4,000 square-foot outdoor) that is perfect for any occasion, day or night.
